Two-thirds of Hungary is plain where you would think there is nothing, mere nothing – that is what we call PUSZTA in Hungarian but in fact this place offers a charming world to explore. The PUSZTA is the cradle of the authentic rural life and it shows you how our ancestors used to live centuries ago.

Firs of all we discover Kecskemét (capital of Puszta) and during the short walk in the centre we visit the beautiful art-nouveau buildings, Town Hall, Decorated Palace just to name a few.

Afterwards we head towards a genuine ranch. A welcome drink pálinka and a typical salty bread will boot us up for the rest of the day: enjoy a horse carriage ride (great fun) and visit the typical Hungarian farm animals such as grey cows, long, curly haired pigs, donkeys, shepherd dogs, etc. The highlight of the Puszta tour is a spectacular and stunning horse show performed by boisterous and brave herdsmen wearing traditional costumes. Afterwards a delicious rural meal is served (included) accompanied by live Gipsy music in the Csárda at the ranch. A real day-out!

First we visit the Herend Porcelain Manufactory: we can see the fases how the workers mould and paint the porcelain in front of us, we get a knowledge of the different patterns that have made this manufactury successful in the world. Next we head towards Balaton passing by the beaches and the lakeshore and first we stop at Tihany. By walking up on the streets among the thatched roof houses a gorgeous scenery will summarize the lake Balaton: its turquoise water, sailors, nature and all surrounded by volcanic mountains. After visiting the double towered Benedictian abbey we have lunch and continue to Balatonfüred.

Balatonfüred is the most charming city at the lake. During a little stroll we visit the Kossuth Spring where we can taste the mineral water, walk along the famous Tagore promenade (named after the Nobel-prize Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore) and the lakeshore to greet and feed the curious swans. On return we pass over settlements at the lakeshore.
